statement
I make paintings which explore the Jewish concept of l’dor va’dor (from generation to generation). My work wrestles with cultural and personal stories that have been passed down through generations. My primary source materials include family histories and formal and informal Jewish teachings. The imagery in my art emerges from meditating on these materials through painting, and through individual and communal prayer, ritual, and learning experiences. Through interrogating these intergenerational narratives, I aim to build and share understanding and compassion for our ancestors, ourselves, and our offspring.
